Peter King, a US congressman, has publicly vilified Michael Jackson as a child molestor and practically condemns everyone for buying tickets to the funeral. He states that we should be giving US Soldiers in Afghanistan the respect they deserve instead. Obviously there is a bit of a logical fallacy here.. we can pay our respects to more than one person, as far as I know. Its not a one or the other thing. Moron.

Now, Mr. King knows that the legal system in the USA has never convicted Michael Jackson of a child molestation crime, so why does this man publicly state that Michael is a child molester after he has passed away? Because Peter King wants publicity. What a low-class low-blow to slander a man who has already passed away! C’mon Pete, grow up! You just wish you were as famous… obviously that’s the whole reason for your public announcement! Why else would you post it forefront on your own webpage!

Perez Hilton tweeted that Will.i.Am assaulted him in from of the MuchMusic video awards in Toronto last night and that he was bleeding. He filed a report with the Toronto Police. This is what was tweeted: “I was assaulted by Will. I. Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.”

Will.i.Am tweeted a denial that he assualted the gossip queen.

What is the world coming to? Twitter is the new everything.

So he doesn’t know why its a big deal, yet him and his group the Boxmasters cancelled all their Canadian show dates. Gee, I wonder why. Maybe because you don’t want your ass kicked by a bunch of Crazy Canadians. It would probably happen too. Crazies beatin a Crazy.

So he calls Canadians “mashed potatoes with no gravy”, then goes on a Canadian talk show and crucifies the host for bringing up the fact that he has anything to do with making movies… and THEN, he goes on Jimmy Kimmel Live, an American talk show host, who introduces him as a film star who’s done lots of movies, and doesn’t seem to mind and then publicly states he can’t figure out what the fuss is all about… must be those weird Canadians.

Well, you redneck, wife-beating, second-rate actor, fifth-rate musician, maybe it has something to do with your complete disregard for anyone but yourself.

I picked up this LP along with a few others at Audiopile on Commercial Drive in Vancouver. The owner there (or at least who I THINK is the owner) is a really cool guy, and the prices on the new LPs are pretty good. Additionally, he has a great used Jazz section and a great used pop/rock section as well. I picked up a couple of used records and a few new ones, and the used ones were in NEW shape, and its quite possible they had never even been played. Very nice. He also has a “Spend $100 and get $10 back to spend” deal!

The subject of this post, however, is my GnR Use Your Illusion 1 album. I’ve been considering purchasing this album for quite a while, as I have always considered November Rain and Don’t Cry two of the best Rock Balads ever written. Yes, Axel is a genuis. The album was $28, so it was a bit steep, but I figured that since its two 180g LPs, and November rain was on an outside track, that the quality would probaby be good. Not to mention that it came with a free MP3 album download.

I popped it on my Pro-Ject 2Xperience turntable with the Ortofon Kontrapunkt A cartridge and it sounded AMAZING. November Rain was meant to be listed to like this… there simply is no other way to experience this song. The detail and depth to the soundstage is phenomenal, and it has a presence to it that the CD is simply lacking. I’ve always liked the CD version, but this is so much of an easier-going version of the song, and sounds fantastic. If you are a GnR fan and are into vinyl, this is a must-get album.

If you’ve never liked the Barenaked Ladies, you’ll definately warm up to them with this fine album. I’ve embedded the video for their single “Polliwog in a Bog” below for you enjoyment!

After doing a late night 11-midnight show at the Commodore Ballroom in vancouver, Lady Gaga and her crew left with Jonny Staub and some friends from the Commodore to the Odyssey Night Club, Vancouver’s hottest Gay Bar. Its well known in the Gay Community that Lady Gaga is popular with the Gays, and she likes to party with them. But its very cool that she would just take off with Jonny Staub and party with everyone at a random Gay Bar! Apparently Lady Gaga was even doing some pole dancing too!

I really dig Lady Gaga’s music, and I am pretty stoked for her next album. Good to see that she is down to earth and ready to hang out with anyone that seems decent. Very cool!
