Its obviously not just me who thinks this.

But after Evgeni Plushenko lost to American skater Evan Lysacek and awarded himself a “Platinum Medal“, you have to wonder how long a sore loser can keep playing games like that.

Then the Russian Maxim Shabalin got a Bronze medal for a routine that was definately a league below both the performances of Canada and the US, who received Gold and Silver respectively, complains that the Canadian team was “too technical” and not really dancing. Then what about their ‘dance’ mocking the First Nations people?

Now after watching the entire series, I felt that the two true standout performers were Canada and the US, and they were really the only two contenders for Gold. I think the Russians were lucky to get bronze, to be quite honest.

Are the British bitter about the 2010 Vancouver Olympics? Maybe its because they have no medals, or maybe its because their Britsh Snobbery just couldn’t help coming out when they know they’re a dying country and Vancouver is such a better place to be and live. Maybe they’re just a bunch of sheep following their big-nosed, big-teethed Marina Hyde. Who knows.

At any rate.. Its always the Brits that come out with their scathing comments in any situation, I guess since their own reputation preceeds them. Everyone knows the British reputation, so now they’re trying to hard to make themselves feel better. Understood.

Maybe they just don’t want Canadians visiting their country anymore? Good way to do it.

Finally, Canadian downhill mogul man Alex Bilodeau wins our first Canadian Gold medal on Canadian soil. And then of course the Australian’s think that their (former Canadian) athelete Dale Begg-Smith should have won it. Sounds like the typical sore loser speech. I have been of the opinion that someone that won before should not have, but this is a subjective judging, so there will always be a difference of opinion. When there are biases, people will always side with their own. However, this time their own was previously one of ours. Dale Begg-Smith, the former Olympic Gold medalist, was a Canadian, and now resides in Australia, selling malware annoy-ware internet advertising, and making millions.

Tarnished Canadian Image
Britain’s Guardian says that we’re too self-absorbed and tries to make us sound like a terrible country. I can understand, given their own stereotypical international image, that they would want to make others seem less.

At any rate, yes, the death of Nodar Kumaritashvili, the Georgian Slider, is a tragedy. Yes, there are many protesters here, and yes, Canada does want to win some medals. Maybe most of the other Countries criticizing would have preferred it if the Canadians just intentionally lost to keep our image of being polite?

I’m a 100% Canucks fan, but while this kind of politics probably happens all the time in hockey, I’m surprised that it has come out this way. It makes the Canucks seem like sore losers, and while its agreeable that most people that watched the game would agree that some of those calls were questionable, this is not the first time this has happened.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that kind of thing happened all the time, and I just accept it as part of the game. You get a free power play in one game, and you lose it in another.. its just luck that determines which one hurts or helps you more. However, I do agree that openly telling players that you are getting back at them is not a good thing. It makes them and fans lose faith in the officiating system.

Even made it on ESPN:

Well, those greedy Flamers and their better-than-thou attitude, led by King Shit Jarome Iginla got an Alberta Health service staff fired by either bribing or coercing their way to the front of the H1N1 flu vaccine line. In case you guys didn’t read, the Calgary Flamers had their boys and their families pushed to the front of the line to get flu vaccines, apparently because their job carries a high degree of risk associated with becoming affected. Now I really want to see how they figure that their family members should get the vaccine too then? Bunch of liars.

They jumped the queue, they used their star power to get preferential treatment, essentially robbing that right from their own fans. If someone dies because they were not able to get vaccine in time, some of that weight should rest on their shoulders.

Original Article

Update: Nov 6th

A second Health Service staff member was fired, and the Calgary Flames were “following a process they believed to be approved”. Yeah, it was approved, but I seriously doubt that all 150 of the Flamers and their families didn’t realize that there was a queue and they were NOT between 6 months and 5years of age, and likely none of the Flamers themselves were pregnant women.

What a load of Shit, Flamers. Take responsibility for your actions. In the grand scheme of things, you guys may or may not have hurt anyone, but c’mon, Jarome Iginla, you are the Captain of your team, lead the by making a public apology instead of putting this all on Alberta Health Services and playing dumb, you monkey.
