Definately do NOT get your wedding dress drycleaned here!

Kerrisdale Cleaners on 41st Avenue in Kerrisdale is a bunch of assholes as far as I’m concerned. My wife took her wedding dress in there to dry clean, which costed just under $500, easily the highest priced of all the Vancouver dry cleaners for Wedding Dress cleaning. We figured that for that kind of money you would get top notch service. Not so much.

My wife made a mistake and signed off on the wrong wedding date for the monogram (they wrote the date), which was her mistake. When she got the box back, which took 3 months, she realized it was wrong and started crying in the store. Another customer in the store gave her a hug and told her that a place in Parker Place would fix that for her cheap. The retarded girl working at the store just started blankly and said condescendingly “You are the one that wrote it wrong” and offered NO OPTION TO FIX IT, EVEN IF SHE WAS WILLING TO PAY! What the hell???? Then she just left, with a wedding box with the wrong date on it. Who the hell would want that? For the most important date in their life… you would figure a place that charges triple or double what their competition is charging for Dry Cleaning would be a little bit more understanding and helping.

Good Wedding Cake? Yan Bakery Exceeds Expectations

I had a few people ask me where I got that amazing cake in the earlier wedding photography post. It is a seven-tier cake with bridges and fountains and a cake topper that is quite nice. Decorated with approximately two dozen roses.

The Cake was purchased from Yan Bakery in East Hastings in Vancouver. It is a husband and wife owned bakery that specializes in large-scale cakes for weddings and birthdays. The wife handles the customers, and the husband does the baking. We sampled the cake and fresh cream prior to ordering the cake, and without a doubt it was the tastiest wedding cake we had ever had.

They loaned us all the items needed to display the cake as well, so we did not need to purchase them… it was not only relatively economical (Wedding cakes can rarely be called economical), but also quite impressive. At least we thought so. Helen and her husband at Yan Bakery are excellent!

Great Wedding Photographer in Vancouver!

I just got married a month and a half ago, and through some referrals found a photographer that REALLY exceeded our expectations, providing digital negatives and more photos and time than anyone else, while producing excellent professional photographs. Additionally, he provided slideshows and had a two-person team at both our engagement and wedding photo sessions. His candid shots were fantastic. He spent the entire day from 8am until around 11pm with us. Norman Ng truly gave us some amazing photographs that I could not be happier with. He is based in Vancouver.

I attached some photos from our wedding, but only included ones of inanimate objects… to keep the privacy of the people, so to speak. Anyway.. I am absolutely 100% satisfied with how everything came out, and his enthusiasm, and willingness to come and work with our schedules during all our meet-ups was fantastic. Also, the three hours they spent with us on our engagement photo shoot was fantastic. He took some amazing photos at that and we were very happy.
