Miku Japanese – Excellent!

Posted by the dood on Thursday, May 14th, 2009

I have a new funky-style Japanese restaurant to go to, Miku on Hastings in Vancouver. A friend of mine suggested it for lunch one day since it was halfway between our two places of work. She had been there several times, and it was new to me. The restaurant is owned and backed by a large Japanese restaurant group and brings it’s signature Aburi-style sushi to Vancouver.

The restaurant is laid out well, with a sushi bar on one site and high, open ceilings with large floor-to-ceiling windows. The menu leans towards the expensive side at dinner but lunch is quite affordable.

The Aburi-Sushi is extraordinary and quite unique. Give it a shot if you’ve never been!

Carrie Prejean is Hot

Posted by the dood on Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

I don’t really care if she posed nude, or whatever… does it really matter? The girl is smoking hot, and is relatively well-spoken. Even when put on the spot by Perez Hilton she answered it honestly. At any rate, who cares about the pageant crown, who cares about the topless nipple shot. This girl is hot.

Posted by the dood on Friday, May 8th, 2009

Christian Audigier’s online store is having a 30% off sale on all their hoodies! Its rare to see such a discount from Christian Audigier on their most popular item.. the hoodie. Times are tough though, and everyone’s gotta do what they gotta do to make the sale. The sale ends on May 10th, so hurry if you are interested in picking up one of Christian Audigier’s luxury Streetwear hoodies.

Keep a lookout for tons of other Ed Hardy and Christian Audigier sales as they are sure to come up. However, even with the Trendy look of Ed Hardy and many out there that call the designs Gaudy and Overly Trendy, google trends shows improved interest over the sale time last year.

Ebay closes up Shop in Vancouver

eBaY is shutting down its Vancouver operations centre, which employs around 700 people in the Greater Vancouver Area. They say that it is meant to improve efficiency at the silicon valley Giant, but I’ve been watching eBaY’s model change, and I believe that the new changes will put the company in the ground. With niche services gaining headway such as forums and specialized sales forums, as well as improved exposure with Craigslist and Kijiji, eBaY’s costly online selling model will push sellers away.

This is the beginning of the end for Ebay.

Montecristo Jewelers Robbed Again

Posted by the dood on Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

This time it scared the Premier.. and if this keeps happening, no one is goign to insure Montecristo in Vancouver anymore. Montecristo Jewelers was just robbed two years ago of $1 Million in merchandise, which was one of the most significant jewelery robberies in Vancouver. Since then, Montecristo has had several smaller thefts as well.

Montecristo is one of the city’s most prominent custom jewelers and one of the largest Rolex dealers in the area.

Very little news has been posted about yesterday’s robbery aside from the fact that it scared the Premier and his bodyguard… more on that story here.
