Winners on Robson has been carrying designer denim for a while now I suppose, and I went there to check out the reports. There is a new concept unique to the Robson and Granville location in Downtown Vancouver… they called it “The Runway”. It is a section that has both mens and women’s designer clothing. I don’t mean “Chaps” and “Tommy Hilfiger”, I mean Diesel, 7 For all Mankind, True Religion. Heck they even have Dolce & Gabbana Jeans.
This is good news for bargain hunters as 7 For All Mankind jeans that cost around $250 in most stores can now be had for $129.99 at Winners. I also saw one pair of True Religions, in a fairly large 36, Big T, for $179.99. Not a bad price for Big T’s. There was also a large selection of Diesel as well for $129.99. Women’s selections were a bit more sparse, looked to be more picked through.
Anyway, good place for designer denim: Winners! Who’da thunk it?

Well, I don’t know if you have it, but I’m going to see if it’s the reason that I have eczema. I started getting Eczema on my calves and occasionally on my arms and elbows in very mild amounts… so little that you probably couldn’t see most of them unless you were looking really hard. But the ones on my calves are pretty bad, and need constant topical treatment of Elocom Cream.
I was at a seminar held by a Naturopath for a chain of stores that my fiance works for. Its a private seminar, not meant to sell a product, but to educate their associates on the products. The products are made by Enzymatic Therapy, a very well known brand in the alternative medicine world. They manufacture professional products for NDs (Naturopathic Doctors) and also mainstream products. The ND sharing claimed to have helped several people suffering from Eczema using these methods, and that it was caused by Leaky Gut and Candida Yeast infection.
To make a long story short, he basically said everything starts at the gut. Its the biggest entry into your body, and that is where you can fix a lot of your problems. So Based on his suggestion, I am going to try the following products. I have substituted Mega-Zyme and Eskimo-3 Oil as I cannot obtain them easily, but have chosen comparable, though slightly cheaper products. This is my Regime:
1 Enzymatic Therapy DGL Chewable Chocolate before each meal
2 Future Formulations Digestion Formula Forte before each meal
2 Enzymatic Therapy Pearls IC Before Bed Each Night
1 Tablespoon Ascenta Health Nutrasea Oil Daily in the Morning
I guess I’ll try this for a month and see if my Eczema just naturally goes away. I am on day 2 right now, and I can’t say either way whether or not anything is happening just yet. Stay Tuned!
NOTE: Looks like I will be getting the Mega-Zyme on Monday, so the second week of this treatment will have the proper Mega-Zyme enzymes, which Enzymatic claims is significantly different from the Digestion Formula Forte that I am using currently.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: I also got a bottle of Enzymatic Therapy Eskimo-3 capsules so I will be supplementing with 3 of those a day as well.

Circuit city announced late on the 16th that their talks of an acquisition had fallen through and that they were going to liquidate. No more Circuit City! 567 stores to close in the US, which means that a lot of stock will be liquidated and sold to large retailers and wholesalers like Costco. Keep your eye out for deals.
The Source in Canada will not be closing, but a few stores will close apparently. The small chain has not been mismanaged in quite the same way, so they will continue to operate and will not be liquidating.
The unfortunate thing with this incedent is that so many people are going to be out of work, and they will be hardpressed to find another job in this poor US Economic climate. I wish them all the best. For the rest of us, good electronics hunting!

I’m sure I’m not the only one that has noticed, EVERYONE still has boxing day sale signs up, and is trying to liquidate old (and even new) stock. The truth is, this was one of the worst quarters for retail sales in decades, and everyone is hurting to get some cash. My guess: If you hold out another month, the deals will just get better. A lot of people aren’t even buying now, and some of the deals on Electronics and clothing are insane.
SSense.com is having a Blackest Black Friday sale ever sale today only, which is an additional 30% off a HUGE amount of already reduced merchandise. We’re talking about over a thousand items for men only.. G-Star, Diesel and Energie are among the notables on sale. I almost pulled the trigger on a sweet Energie puffy jacket for around $270 – 30%. That would put it under $200, and free shipping within Canada.. can’t beat that, regularly priced around $400+.
I was checking out some local flyer sales from Best Buy and Visions, and the sales are incredible.. better than boxing day in some ways. Canadian tire has some insane sales too, with much of their tools in the 50-70% off range… not unusual for Can Tire, but I think nearly EVERY tool is on sale, which is rare all at once.
I don’t know of the eletronics sales has anything to do with Circuit City’s announcement to completely close all 567 of their stores in the US, but maybe. It is liquidating it’s stock, which means that a lot of the liquidation buyers like Costco might have some serious deals for us. Keep your eyes Peeled.
At any rate, the economy’s not done hurting yet, at least not in my opinion, so I think we have at least 3-6 more months of serious deals (and financial hardship) to come.
